City Garden Company

City Garden Company is a Landscaping business in Athens, GA. The firm provides custom landscape design and build services across North Georgia, including Athens and the Metro Atlanta area. Their work addresses complex site challenges such as stormwater management, grading, and municipal permitting, ensuring projects remain compliant with local ordinances regarding zoning, site approvals, and tree protection. The company serves homeowners seeking modern, functional outdoor living spaces that respect the architectural character of their properties, specializing in full-scale landscape transformations rather than small, one-off projects. It holds a rating of 5.00 based on 5 reviews.

The design-build team is led by Patrick, the Build Lead, who brings decades of hands-on experience in landscaping, hardscaping, and project management. He oversees each project from concept to completion, ensuring every detail meets high standards. Danielle supports clients throughout the process, drawing on a background in natural sciences and a passion for botany to create wildlife-friendly habitats. Their approach emphasizes collaboration, craftsmanship, and care, handling everything from initial consultations to final installation in-house. They provide virtual garden design services for clients across Georgia and offer a 60-day plant establishment guarantee along with tailored care guides.

Specific projects demonstrate their ability to balance aesthetics with structural integrity. For a mid-century home, the team raised a driveway and regraded the site to eliminate drainage issues that had compromised the foundation, while adding a recessed patio, Corten steel planters, and a fire pit. Another project transformed a suburban backyard into a modern retreat featuring a custom-painted brick gas fireplace, a saw-cut concrete patio, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a custom egg grill stand. They also redesigned a cluttered Atlanta backyard into a sleek, contemporary space with Pennsylvania bluestone patios and low-maintenance plantings suitable for pets.

The business is recognized for its thoughtful design and skilled craftsmanship, including a Bronze award in Residential Landscape Design from the Association of Professional Landscape Designers for the Vedado project. Clients appreciate the team’s honest communication, clear budgeting, and commitment to doing the work right the first time. The company focuses on creating long-lasting, beautifully designed outdoor spaces using native plants and resilient materials to make long-term care easier for homeowners.

City Garden Company combines expert project management with ecological design principles to create enduring outdoor spaces that enhance the homes and lives of residents in Athens.
