After immigrating to the United States in May 1980, he returned to the restaurant business five years later with his wife, Margarita Rodriguez. The name "Rey" means "King" in Spanish. Over the years, the business has grown to serve customers in Miami and Hialeah, with families often returning across generations.

The menu features a variety of options including pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, and beverages. Customers can order pizzas with toppings such as ham, pepperoni, chorizo, ground beef, shrimp, onions, bell peppers, banana, and mushrooms. The pasta section includes spaghetti with cheese, ham, chorizo, ground beef, or meatballs, as well as lasagna. Sandwich options include the Cuban Sandwich, Midnight Sandwich, Steak Sandwich, and Frita Cubana. Beverages range from canned and fountain sodas to juices, teas, malt sodas, mineral water, and beer.
