The athletic club is situated within a historic venue built in 1922 by Coral Gables founder George Merrick. The original building, designed by Hampton & Reimert, served as the city’s first public building and was a key attraction in the City Beautiful movement, featuring a distinctive tower and an open-air bandshell on a palm patio. Although much of the original structure was lost to a fire in 1983, the site retains six coral rock arches that pay homage to the original architectural style. The current 40,000-square-foot facility blends traditional Mediterranean exterior façades with classical interior finishes, including the Coral Grand Ballroom and three other event spaces. The venue was restored and reopened to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the Coral Gables Golf & Country Club.

The athletic club maintains a positive rating from the customers who have reviewed it.
