Lang Carpet

Lang Carpet is a carpet cleaner and flooring specialist in Wilmington, Delaware, serving homeowners, designers, and businesses with carpet installation, area rug cleaning, in-home wall-to-wall carpet cleaning, and carpet and rug repair. The company also operates a retail showroom offering carpets, rugs, and flooring products, and its service area extends across the region, including the Delaware Beaches, the New Jersey Shore, the Eastern Maryland Shore, and Annapolis, Maryland. It holds a rating of 4.60 from customer reviews.

Lang Carpet has been family owned and operated since its founding in 1900, when George F. Lang started the business picking up and delivering rugs for cleaning by horse-drawn carriage. The company has occupied several Wilmington locations over the years, including 10th and Orange Street, 1207 N. Orange Street, 407 N. Adams Street, and 702 W. 5th Street, before settling at its current address. Thomas Lang is the fourth generation of the family to own and operate the business; he began working there at 16 and took over from his father, H. Vaughn Lang Jr. The team includes long-tenured employees, among them a showroom manager with more than a decade of experience in customer relations and detailed knowledge of oriental rugs and carpeting.

The showroom spans more than 4,000 square feet and carries designer wools, fine hand-made oriental rugs, luxury vinyl tile, and new carpeting, alongside custom rug designs. Flooring installation services cover solid and engineered hardwood and luxury vinyl plank, with subfloor preparation and board placement handled by the installation team. Free estimates and consultations are available for flooring projects.

Lang Carpet sits on North Union Street, about a tenth of a mile from the Woodlawn Branch Library, Father Tucker Park, and the Little Italy neighborhood, and roughly two-tenths of a mile from Pennsylvania Avenue. Holden Parkway is about three-tenths of a mile away.

Customers describe the crew as friendly and accommodating, with carpet cleaning that restored high-traffic areas of a white carpet and rug cleaning that revived a sentimental area rug, including pick-up and drop-off service.
