Supporting Kidds is a center for grieving children and their families in Hockessin, Delaware. Supporting Kidds began in 1989 as a small grassroots organization modeled after the Dougy Center in Oregon, offering peer support groups using leased and donated space in the local community. It is the only nonprofit in the state devoted solely to supporting grieving children and their families. The team is led by Executive Director Louise Cummings, an attorney and child advocate who has managed the organization since 2021, and Clinical Director Alexa Ujlaky, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who joined in 2021 and holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from West Chester University. Annual events include a Golf Tournament, the Hearts That Heal Gala, and the Highmark 5K, alongside family healing events held at the center and throughout the community.
