Founded in 2005 by Matt Harwood, Dogfather Grooming was inspired by his poodles, Vader and Lulu, and a belief that grooming should be grounded in skill, empathy, and respect. Matt trained professionally and later taught others, developing expertise in breed-specific handling, safe mat removal, and stress-aware grooming techniques. Those standards still guide the work today, with shorter sessions, clear communication with owners, and calm, consistent care for every dog. The grooming team is led by Matthew Harwood as Head of Grooming, supported by Joseph Bereski as Head of Operations and Marie Koenig as Head of HR. Mobile groomers include Ally Grace, Cristen Quinn, Jessie Sheely, Jessie Rillstone, and Nick Rayho. The business has been caring for animals in Southern Connecticut for 20 years and has helped thousands of families with their pets' grooming needs, treating every animal gently and with respect, whether they come in for a simple nail trim or a full grooming session.

Dogfather Grooming Meriden holds a 4.70 rating based on customer reviews, reflecting the trust owners place in the team's expertise and caring approach.
