Expert Rental (formerly Taylor Rental)

Expert Rental is a party rental business in Torrington, CT. Formerly known as Taylor Rental, the company has served northwest Connecticut for over half a century and describes itself as the area's most complete rental destination. It rents party and event equipment including tents, and also offers project rentals such as towable backhoes. The business is open seven days a week, 357 days a year, with hours running from early morning through Saturday evening and a shorter Sunday window of 7:30 am to noon. It currently holds a 4.10 rating.

In 2019, after a corporate buyout of the managing co-op required a switch to a franchised business model with new operating rules, the owners left the corporate system to continue as an independent local rental company under the new name Expert Rental. Management, location, service, and hours all stayed the same. The new name came from a customer who told the staff, "you're the experts." The company focuses on quality rentals, dependable reservations, project advice, operating instructions, and courteous service. Its pricing is upfront, with no damage waiver, no mandatory fuel charges, and no credit card processing fees added on; the price shown is the price charged, plus applicable state sales taxes. Recent posts on the site cover tent comparisons, the no-damage-waiver policy, and alternatives to hiring a DJ.

The store sits at 696 Winsted Road, just off Route 8 at Exit 51. Kennedy Drive is about a third of a mile away, Goodwin Pond and Alvord Park are both within roughly half a mile, and Torrington High School is under a mile from the door. The East Branch of the Naugatuck River runs about a mile to the east.

After nearly 60 years serving the northwest corner of Connecticut, Expert Rental remains locally owned and operated, with a staff that prides itself on straightforward pricing and hands-on event and project know-how.
