Drainage is a specialty: the company addresses water that collects in unwanted areas, which can compromise soil stability, harm plants, and damage a home's foundation over time. Its drainage work is intended to channel rainwater, irrigation runoff, and melting snow away from high-risk areas, preventing soil erosion, supporting healthier turf and garden beds, and keeping walkways and patios dry and stable. Solutions are tailored to the soil types, slopes, and climate conditions of each property, from conceptual design through post-installation support.

The business operates from North Mountain Road in Newington, about a fifth of a mile from Hartford Avenue and Piper Brook, a third of a mile from Southwood Park, and roughly half a mile from Newington Avenue. The Shield Street Post Office and Beechwood Park are each about half a mile away. From Newington, the company serves most of Central Connecticut within roughly a 30 to 35 mile radius, including Greater Hartford and outlying areas such as West Hartford, Avon, Farmington, Canton, Simsbury, Bloomfield, Berlin, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, Glastonbury, and Southington.

With more than three decades of design, construction, and maintenance work behind it, Birch Hill Landscape & Design brings long-standing local experience to landscape projects across Newington and the Greater Hartford area.
