The firm is led by Gerry Montgomery, who has worked in funeral service since 1976 and graduated with honors from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in 1979. Pueblo is also the firm's exclusive local member in both the Selected Independent Funeral Homes and the International Order of the Golden Rule. Montgomery & Steward established the Grief Support Library at Sangre de Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care and provides funding for the Pueblo Choral Society.

The funeral home sits on North Main Street in Pueblo, near West 13th Street and North Santa Fe Avenue, with the Pueblo County Courthouse, Pueblo School District 60, and the North Pueblo Freeway all within a short distance.

A steady record of repeat and referred customers reflects the kind of long-standing community trust that comes from a century of local, family-run service in Pueblo.
