The business began in 2008 as a way to fill a gap left when two local feed suppliers left the market, with Johnstown Ace Hardware stepping in to provide animal feed for local pet owners. Over the years the feed segment grew through the steady support of customers from Johnstown and Milliken, and in 2015 the business expanded into a dedicated space on the Ace Hardware campus under the Animal Crackers Feed name. The store is run by Store Manager Marlene and operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A loyalty program rewards returning shoppers, and staff help customers compare brands to find the right nutritional fit for each animal.

Animal Crackers Feed sits on South Parish Avenue in downtown Johnstown, about a quarter mile from the US Post Office and Parish Park, and within walking distance of East and West South 1st Street. Its location inside the Ace Hardware campus makes it a practical stop for pet and livestock owners in the surrounding neighborhoods.

With years of service to Johnstown and Milliken and a customer base that grew the business from an idea into a dedicated storefront, Animal Crackers Feed remains a steady source of pet supplies in downtown Johnstown.
