The business operates on the belief that while nine of the ten most popular dog breeds do not require haircuts, all dogs need routine hygiene to stay clean and healthy. Scenthound was founded in 2005 by Tim and Jessica Vogel, starting as a mobile dog grooming service before expanding to salons. Lucy serves as the Chief Dog Officer. The approach uses positive reinforcement and calm, structured handling to reduce stress and build confidence, with regular visits helping dogs become familiar with the process and staff. Three membership options are available, with members saving 25 percent. The six-point wellness check insights are accessible through the Scenthound App, supporting technology-based wellness tracking. The Basic Hygiene service is available at a consistent price for every dog, regardless of size, breed, or age.
