Hillary's Hound House, Inc. is a Dog Training business in San Rafael, CA. The facility specializes in puppy education and care, offering the Jumpstart® Puppy Program for dogs aged 8 weeks to 6 months, the Teen Tune-Up Program for puppies between 6 and 18 months, and a Daycare & Enrichment Program designed to provide socialization and structured play. With over 20 years of experience, the business serves Marin County and surrounding areas, addressing common behavioral challenges such as puppy biting, potty training difficulties, jumping, and leash pulling. The program emphasizes age-appropriate supervision to help puppies develop confidence, impulse control, and coping skills. The business holds a rating of 4.90 based on 781 reviews.

The curriculum is built around a purpose-driven approach that balances play, rest, and mental stimulation to prevent early behavioral issues like reactivity and excitability. The Jumpstart® Puppy Program is a four-week daylong school that allows puppies to learn basic manners and social skills in a controlled environment. The Teen Tune-Up Program addresses the developmental challenges of adolescence, helping owners navigate the tempestuous stage of development. The Daycare & Enrichment Program is described as more than standard daycare, focusing on fulfilling each puppy’s need for connection and growth through activities tailored to their specific temperament, whether they are shy, fearful, outgoing, or lack impulse control.

The business was founded after the owner, a Marriage and Family Therapist, experienced a personal challenge with her own puppy, Stevie, who required daylong care and socialization that was unavailable at the time. After sending Stevie back to the breeder due to a lack of suitable options, the owner pursued a new career path in dog training. In 2008, at age 55, she established Hillary’s Hound House to provide the kind of specialized, full-day care and training she wished she had found for her own dog. The facility includes a specially designed Nursery to meet the unique needs of young puppies.

The business maintains a strong local reputation, reflected in consistently high customer ratings and an established track record built on a large base of customer reviews. Over the past twenty years, it has trained thousands of puppies of all ages, sizes, and breeds.

Hillary's Hound House, Inc. combines decades of specialized puppy training expertise with a deep understanding of canine development to support San Rafael dog owners in building harmonious relationships with their pets.

The business is located on Andersen Drive, just a short distance from Redwood Highway and Bellam Boulevard. It sits approximately 0.2 miles from the John T. Knox Freeway and 0.3 miles from the San Rafael Post Office.
