Architects Magnus of San Diego

Architects Magnus of San Diego is an architect in San Diego, CA, established in 2002 as a small-practice architecture and design firm. The firm specializes in custom residential projects, serving homeowners seeking new builds, remodels, and additions. Their approach centers on uncovering the hidden potential of existing homes and designing spaces that reflect the unique lives of their clients. They handle the full process from initial discovery and pre-development analysis to final construction documentation, guiding clients through complex development codes and site-specific design decisions.

The practice is led by Hector and Pamela Magnus, who collaborate directly with clients to bring their visions to life. Their services include a pre-development analysis phase that helps clients make informed decisions about property purchases by researching regulations and defining development options within a two to six-week timeline. For new build homes, the design and documentation phase typically spans four to twelve months, focusing on building placement, orientation, landscape, and resilient interior fit and finish. They also offer tailored services for sustainability, specialty lighting, and interior design. Client testimonials highlight the partners' active listening, creative execution, and ability to transform homes into spaces that meet and exceed expectations, whether rebuilding after a wildfire in Santa Barbara, reimagining coastal living in Del Mar, or connecting two modern homes in San Diego.

Located at 3370 Jackdaw St, the office sits in the Middletown neighborhood, about two-tenths of a mile from the area's center. It is a short distance from major thoroughfares, including the San Diego Freeway and Pacific Highway, both within three-tenths to four-tenths of a mile. The National Comedy Theatre is also nearby, roughly half a mile away.

The firm holds a rating of 4.90 based on customer reviews, reflecting a positive reception from the homeowners who have worked with them. Architects Magnus of San Diego brings a focused, personal approach to custom residential architecture in San Diego, combining deep local knowledge with a commitment to authentic, purpose-driven design.
