The school is state licensed by California Community Care Licensing under License #434417164, and all teachers are CPR and First Aid certified and trained in infant and child safety, recertified every two years. The preschool program uses play-based learning to build confidence, curiosity, and school readiness. The curriculum emphasizes kindness, creativity, emotional intelligence, and STEM exploration, with daily activities that include morning huddles, foundational work in reading, writing, and arithmetic, and play stations. The founder, Nikitha, established the school around a philosophy of nurturing self-esteem and lifelong learning, and the program's values include inclusivity, responsibility, and respect.

Happy Hearts Preschool sits on Monterey Road, about half a mile from Las Animas Veterans Park and a short walk from the Lakeside Picnic Area. Monterey Street runs nearby, and the West Branch Llagas Creek and Lions Creek are both close to the school.
