City of Coronado Aquatics Center

City of Coronado Aquatics Center is a pool service in Coronado, California. It operates a public aquatics facility with lap swim, family swim, water exercise, and swim lessons, and it serves swimmers of all ages, from young children to adults. Lap lanes are first come, first serve, and when all lanes are full swimmers share by splitting a lane or circle swimming; a minimum of two lap swim lanes is kept open during all posted lap swim hours. Family swim is offered in the recreation pool, where participants wear provided wristbands. Children ages 5 and under must have an adult within arm's reach in the water and on the pool deck, children who are not toilet trained must wear a reusable swim diaper, and children ages 13 and under may not enter the pool deck without an adult present. Water exercise includes AquaFit classes held seven days a week at various times and GentleFit on Tuesdays and Fridays, with same-day registration available online, by phone, or in person and daily drop-ins accepted first-come, first-served. City-provided swim lessons run on various days in the morning and afternoon, private lessons are available, and the curriculum follows Red Cross Learn-to-Swim guidelines. Registration is handled online or by phone with the Community Center front desk. A Junior Lifeguard Program is also offered. The center holds a rating of 4.40 from the customers who have reviewed it.

The facility sits on Strand Way, next to the Coronado Playhouse and a short distance from Silver Strand Boulevard. The Coronado Community Center is about a tenth of a mile away, Glorietta Bay and Coronado City Hall are each roughly a tenth of a mile off, and Coronado Shores Beach is about two tenths of a mile away.

Its positive rating reflects the experience of the swimmers who use the pool, and the schedule of lap swim, lessons, and water exercise classes gives Coronado residents a full slate of aquatics programming close to the bay.
