The curriculum is age-appropriate and play-based, tailored to meet each child’s individual needs. Daily schedules include indoor and outdoor free play, as well as guided activities such as circle time, dance, music, story time, art, and dramatic play with an emphasis on the German language. Healthy organic snacks are provided.

The daycare creates a space where children are playfully exposed to German language and culture. Teachers act as guides and role models in a child-centered educational approach. While the environment is bilingual, there is a specific emphasis on German language exposure. Because English is the dominant language in the Bay Area, teachers speak and read books in German more frequently than in English. This allows language development to happen naturally without pressure on the children to choose a language. Music and singing are used as tools for language learning, with repetition helping children memorize words and gain fluency in both languages. Kita on Kains holds a 5.00 rating based on customer reviews.

The small group setting allows for special attention to the needs of each child. The licensed daycare provides a unique opportunity for children to gain fluency in German through natural immersion and playful interaction. Located on the Berkeley/Albany border near Marin Ave, Kita on Kains offers a safe and engaging environment for early childhood education.
