Hearing Zone Doctors

Hearing Zone Doctors is an audiology practice in Albany, California. The independently owned clinic is part of a larger practice that has served the East Bay for more than twenty years, with locations in Alameda, Oakland, and Albany. It holds a five-star rating based on customer reviews. The Albany office provides comprehensive hearing tests, hearing aid evaluations, fittings and programming, hearing aid repairs, hearing protection, tinnitus support, and ongoing audiology care in a personalized setting.

The practice was founded by Dr. Garr Crookston in Pocatello, Idaho, and has since grown to serve communities across three states. In the Bay Area, Dr. Raymond Crookston carries on the patient-first tradition. A second-generation audiologist with more than twenty-five years of experience in hearing diagnostics and hearing aid technology, Dr. Crookston graduated from Central Michigan University, home to one of the country's first doctoral programs in audiology, and completed his residency in Walnut Creek. He takes an individualized approach to every patient and works with all major hearing aid manufacturers, allowing the practice to recommend technology based on each patient's hearing profile, lifestyle, and communication needs rather than a single brand. His specialties include personalized hearing aid fittings, advanced hearing technology, hearing protection, and custom in-ear monitors for musicians and performers. The Albany office also offers Lace AI Pro, an auditory training program designed to help the brain process sound more effectively in short daily sessions.

The Albany office sits at 1660 Solano Avenue on the Albany-Berkeley border, with a dedicated parking lot, accessible ramp, and free on-site parking. It is about a tenth of a mile from Blackberry Creek and Solano Avenue, and roughly the same distance from Capistrano Creek, Marin Avenue, Dancing Paintbrush Studio, and Thousand Oaks School Park.

A five-star rating from patients reflects the practice's consistent reputation for thorough evaluations, clear explanations, and attentive follow-up care. As a long-established independent audiology practice on Solano Avenue, Hearing Zone Doctors continues to bring personalized hearing care to Albany and the surrounding East Bay.
