The company's approach centers on four ideas: style, value, function, and versatility. Heartwood Designs draws on timeless styles from around the world to create concepts unique to each home, aiming for kitchens that look as current in twenty years as they do on day one. Great design, in its view, is defined not by project size but by intention, and it applies the same expertise to a custom luxury build as to a focused remodel, emphasizing space planning and efficient navigation of the process to avoid costly oversights. It maximizes workspace for the way clients live, whether the layout is intimate or expansive.

Material options include exotic wood veneers and high-performance composites, with custom colors, textures, and finishes. Heartwood Designs offers long-lasting, domestically manufactured millwork, selecting manufacturing partners that prioritize build quality and environmental stewardship, and sources domestically so cabinetry meets North American standards. Its design services use state-of-the-art software, and its outdoor cabinets are built to hold up in the Arizona climate. The company describes decades of experience in kitchen, bath, and outdoor kitchen design.
