Emerson bought out the business in 1941, renaming it Emerson & Son Funeral Home, and it relocated to the old Arkansas Hotel building before moving to the present location at 1629 E. Nettleton on March 1, 1951. Billy Joe Emerson took over leadership in 1954, renaming it Emerson Funeral Home, and Toby Emerson joined the family business in 1978.
