1st Rate NWA Driver’s Education

1st Rate NWA Driver's Education is a driving school in Centerton, AR. The school provides state-approved driver's education to teens and adults across Northwest Arkansas, teaching the driver education courses in Bella Vista, Bentonville, Centerton, Rogers, and Cave Springs. Programs prepare students for both the Arkansas written test and the driver's skill test, and the school holds a rating of 5.00 based on customer reviews.

The school runs an Arkansas state-approved driver's ed program divided into an online course and behind-the-wheel lessons. The self-paced online portion covers state-required topics including the Arkansas GDL Program, hazards of drinking and driving, traffic signs, road markings, school zones, basic vehicle controls, railroad safety, driving in the elements, and distracted driving, presented through videos, quizzes, reading, and interactive scenarios. Instructors remain available to answer questions throughout the online coursework. After passing the final exam, students move to the in-car portion, where each two-hour lesson pairs one hour of driving with one hour of observation. Behind-the-wheel topics include parking, proper turns at traffic lights, navigating roundabouts, interstate driving, and skills test preparation. Youth under 18 receive daytime lessons only between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., with no after-school or weekend availability. Adult Test Day Packages pair students with a certified instructor who accompanies them to the ASP office on test day.

The school is owned by Scott and Geri Matzke, residents of Centerton whose children attend BWHS. It is fully licensed by the Arkansas Department of Education and is the first driving school in the area to offer a self-paced online course and a pick-up and drop-off service for in-car lessons within Bentonville, Centerton, Rogers city limits, and Cave Springs. Students outside those areas can meet at Atwood's in Lowell or another designated meet-up spot. Payment is accepted by cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard, and tuition is refundable on a pro rata basis depending on how much of the program a student has completed.

The school sits on Walker Street, just a short walk from Harvest Park and its lake, with McKisic Creek close by and Cass Rd Park within roughly three-fifths of a mile. North Main Street and Main Street are each about half a mile away.

A 5.00 rating from the customers who have reviewed it reflects the experience that students and parents have come to expect from driver education in Northwest Arkansas.
