Akins Furniture Dogtown

Akins Furniture Dogtown is a mattress store in Fort Payne, AL, located at 3450 Co Rd 81. It holds a rating of 4.40 based on customer reviews. The business was started by Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Akins as a general store in 1922, and they later began selling used furniture from their living room. The store now spans over 150,000 square feet, and the Akins family has over eighty years of furniture experience. Akins Furniture buys its products directly from the factory, which eliminates distributors and middle men, and often buys by the truckload and container to reduce freight costs. The land and building are owned by the business, with no downtown lease or rental payment. The store does not invest in fancy advertisements, relying instead on prices and satisfied customers. Some items are not stocked in the store and must be special ordered. The business also has locations in Rainsville and Scottsboro, AL.
