The Pediatric and Infant Center for Acute Nephrology (PICAN), established in 2013, provides care for children with acute kidney injury. Its Acute Dialysis and Pheresis Team (ADAPT) offers acute peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, prolonged intermittent renal replacement therapy, and fluid removal via SCUF. The KidneyWell Program provides education and evidence-based interventions to clinicians across Alabama for infants and children at risk for chronic kidney disease.
