Alaska Vein Care of Juneau

Alaska Vein Care of Juneau is a medical group in Juneau, AK. The clinic treats varicose veins, spider veins, and other venous disease, and it serves patients in Juneau and throughout Alaska, with additional clinics in Anchorage, Wasilla, Kenai, and Fairbanks. The practice holds a rating of 5.00 based on 14 reviews.

Treatment is delivered by fellowship-trained interventional and diagnostic radiologists, including Dr. William Schaeffer, Dr. Sean Biggs, Dr. Steven Tandberg, and Dr. Steven Neeley. The clinic offers the VenaSeal Closure System, a non-tumescent, non-thermal, non-sclerosant procedure that uses a medical adhesive delivered endovenously to close the vein, avoiding the nerve injury risk sometimes associated with thermal-based procedures and the multiple needle sticks of tumescent anesthesia. ClosureFast uses radiofrequency energy to heat a 7cm vein segment, or 3cm for shorter refluxing lengths, in a single 20-second interval, with a feedback mechanism that monitors heat parameters in real time to regulate therapeutic power. Other treatments include Varithena, radiofrequency ablation, sclerotherapy, and PICC. The clinic also maintains a transformation gallery of before-and-after results.

The office sits on Airport Blvd, about a tenth of a mile from Egan Drive and roughly a quarter mile from Jordan Creek. Glacier Fire Station #3 is a short distance away, Glacier Highway is about half a mile off, and Nugget Mall is roughly six-tenths of a mile from the clinic.

The practice is Alaskan owned and operated, and its radiologists bring six years of training dedicated to image-guided procedures, with four serving as associate and assistant professors of radiology who have trained other physicians. Thousands of Alaskans have been treated at its clinics.

For Juneau residents weighing treatment for varicose or spider veins, the clinic brings the same vein care offered in Anchorage and Fairbanks to the capital, with a patient rating to match.
