Cirque Alaska

Cirque Alaska is a Dance Studio in Fairbanks, AK, located at 3651 Stoneridge St. It holds a rating of 4.50 based on customer reviews.

The studio’s mission is to elevate the fitness experience by celebrating bodily accomplishment over outward appearance. It provides a space where performance artists and recreational athletes train alongside one another. Cirque Alaska offers Aerial Arts, Pole Arts, Group Fitness, Dance, and Personal Training in one location. Classes are available for all ages and abilities. The studio also provides aerial entertainment for hired events.

Instruction includes an 8-week Aerial Sling session for beginners to gain strength and flexibility. Students learn to connect sequences, explore drops, and understand fabric theory. Split Fabric classes teach new aerialists climbs, footlocks, hipkeys, and basic sequences. Intermediate adult and teen students work on advanced sequences, dynamic movement, and fabric theory on Aerial Silks. Aerial Hoop (Lyra) classes help first-time aerialists learn inverting, posing, and spins, while progressing students build longer sequences, beats, flairs, and rolls.

Teen-specific Aerial Silks classes focus on collaboration and supporting one another. Kids ages 6-14 learn inversion technique, breathing, and basic sequences on sling and silk. Younger students ages 4-7 explore poses and tricks on aerial sling and bar apparatus like the aerial hoop.

Pole Arts classes cover basic grips, spins, and poses on static and spin xpoles. No experience is necessary for basic classes. Higher-level moves require fewer points of contact with the pole. Youth pole classes for ages 10-17 focus on fundamental skills. The studio’s equipment is professionally installed for all body sizes, with no weight limit. Pole is priced similarly to aerial apparatuses. Students are encouraged to purchase punchcards or the aerial ninja pass.

Consistency is key to success in pole. Curriculums are leveled for success. Students should not wear lotion before class. Shorts are recommended, and heels and knee pads are encouraged for low flow and choreo classes. Water is provided at the studio.
